Top 10 Places with Scenic Views in Hong Kong

Anyone that has been to Hong Kong knows that it has some of the most beautiful views in the world, whether that be views of the dazzling skyline or views of the overflowing nature. To fully capture the beauty of Hong Kong, there are a few places that you can go to. Below we will go over some of the best spots with views!

Victoria Peak
Here you can get truly majestic views of Hong Kong and Kowloon. Standing at around 552 meters tall, you get beautiful views of Central, Victoria Harbour, Lamma Island, and other surrounding islands. Although Victoria Peak is somewhat a tourist attraction, it still can be a great option. Moreover, if you don’t feel like hiking to the top, take the Peak Tram instead! Consider going to the Sky Terrace 428 for the best panoramic views.

Avenue of Stars
Located in Tsim Sha Tsui, the Avenue of Stars is a walkway dedicated to Hong Kong’s cinematic legends. It also conveniently has a gorgeous view of the Hong Kong Island skyline because it’s located right across the water. This promenade is a great place to come on a leisurely stroll, day or night.  More information here!

Sky 100 Hong Kong Observatory
If the panoramic views at Victoria Peak didn’t satisfy you enough, try this location. Located on the 100th floor of the International Commerce Centre (ICC), the Sky 100 has an unparalleled view of Hong Kong. Go during a clear day to see far and wide into Hong Kong or go at night for a view of the sparkling city skyline. If you do go at night, consider going to Cafe 100 at the Ritz Carlton for dinner with a panorama.  Find out more here!

Dragon’s Back Trail
Looking to get away from the congestion of the city for a view of the abundant natural land in Hong Kong? This might be the spot for you. This hike in Shek O Country Park will take you through a beautiful landscape and give you panoramic views at Shek O Peak. If you stay on the trail long enough it will also bring you down to the beaches of Big Waves Bay and Shek O Beach. A fair warning though, parts of the trail can be steep and there are no shops so bring enough water and snacks! The whole trail measures in at 8.5 km long, so it could take up to 5 hours to complete (or faster depending on your fitness level).

Star Ferry
This is one of the more unique options available. Get the best of both worlds with views on both sides of the river. Additionally, it is incredibly cheap and also happens to be the fastest way to get from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central or Wan Chai. If you are looking for another option to stay on a boat longer, consider renting out a boat for you and your party. This way you can get a leisurely view of the skyline while also relaxing comfortably with the seabreeze. Depending on your party size, there are many boat rentals available.

Aqua Restaurant
This is a great dinner and cocktail spot that also has a view of Hong Kong’s skyline. Located in Kowloon, this luxurious restaurant has floor to ceiling windows and a wonderful ambiance for a night out. They have two separate kitchens, Aqua Roma specializing in Italian food and Aqua Tokyo specializing in Japanese food. That along with a wide selection of cocktails, beers, and wines makes for an all in all wonderful dining experience to accompany the view. Expect to spend over HK$200 if you plan to eat and drink here.  There's more infomation here!

Hong Kong Observation Wheel
It isn’t as iconic as the London eye, but it certainly is still a spot to go for a spectacular view. The pods are air-conditioned so they are nice and cool during the summer months and heated for the winter months. The 60 meter tall ferris wheel won’t disappoint if it’s views of Victoria Harbor or Central that you want.  You can buy your tickets here!

Ozone
This is the highest bar that you can go to, not only in Hong Kong, but in Asia. Located on the 118th floor of the Ritz Carlton, this bar has an outdoor terrace that you can go on when the weather allows. On a clear night, Ozone will provide you with an unforgettable view to go along with their delicious cocktails.

Kowloon Peak
The peak of the tallest mountain in Kowloon standing at 602 meters will deliver one of the most stunning views if you can make it to the top. There are multiple paths to the top, easier ones for novice hikers and difficult ones as well. The hardest being the ascent up Suicide Cliff. Beginners shouldn’t attempt Suicide Cliff as it has resulted in multiple deaths and injuries. Only attempt if you are an expert in rock climbing and hiking. Having said that, the easier routes to the top are fairly safe and offer a great view at the peak as well.

IFC Rooftop Garden
For our final pick, it is not nearly as high up or spectacular as the other views. However, located in Central, the IFC Rooftop Garden is a great place to take a leisurely stroll and relax on the many couches and chairs in the garden. It still offers some unique views of the area surrounding. Also shopping and dinner at IFC mall because they certainly have a wide assortment of that.
